Margaret Thatcher Leaves Public Life
In my many years of following Bible prophecy, I find the progression of the prophetic timeline is largely governed by events that are seemingly unrelated to the end times.
The development of the European Union is extremely important to prophecy. The prophet Daniel and John of Revelation both predicted a revived form of the Roman Empire would give rise to the antichrist. A central body of ten leaders will agree to hand over their power to the Beast of the 17th chapter of Revelation.
"And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast." (Rev 17:12-13)
For many years Margaret Thatcher, the former British Prime Minister, has been trying to block England's integration into the EU. She has been the most vocal critic of the EU, calling it a failed experiment.
On Friday it was announced Thatcher may never speak again in public after she was advised by doctors to cancel all engagements because of fears about her health. Lady Thatcher has suffered a number of small strokes in recent months and after tests her doctors said these could no longer be "predicted or prevented."
"They have therefore told her to cut back her program at once and in particular to avoid the undue strain that public speaking places on her," her spokeswoman told Reuters. "With great regret she has decided to abide by this advice and cancel all her speaking engagements."
I'm not all too sure what kind of immediate impact Margaret Thatcher's retirement from public life will have on the EU. We may be at the point where the momentum is so unstoppable, no man or woman could hope to prevent a United States of Europe from forming.
I'm Melting; Melting; MeltingFor over a decade now scientists have been using satellites to closely track the melting of the polar ice caps. At least twice a year we read about some new iceberg the size of a U.S. state splitting off from one of Antarctica's many ice shelves.
Global warning is universally blamed as the cause of the loss of polar ice. There is no doubt that this trend will lead to a rise in sea levels, however, there has been much argument over the rate at which the sea levels will rise.
The ice that has broken free so far will have little impact on the volume of ocean water. Because that ice is already largely submerged in water, it does not measurably add to global flooding.
The continent of Antarctica is covered with ice an average of 7,000 feet thick. If all of this Antarctic ice was to melt, sea levels around the world would rise about 300 feet.
In 1995 the International Panel on Climate Change issued a report which contained various projections of the sea level change by the year 2100. They estimate that the sea will rise 20 inches. This report has been shattered by the dramatic collapse of the Larsen B ice shelf, a large floating ice mass on the eastern side of the Antarctic Peninsula. In just the past 7 years 1,040 square miles of ice has broken free from this ice shelf.
A growing number of researchers are warning of the potential for a massive collapse. The ice shelves that surround Antarctica are believed to act as a buttress that stabilizes the continental ice. The loss of support from the ice shelves could eventually trigger the greatest avalanche in mankind's history.
It's very unlikely the entire polar cap is going to disappear anytime soon, but even a small event could result in disastrous global flooding. A 20 foot rise in sea levels would inundate millions of square miles of land. Central Florida for example is only 14 feet above sea level, and the city of New Orleans is even more vulnerable. It is actually a few feet below sea level.
I used think there was no real need for Christians to monitor the changes related to green house gases. If it was going to take a couple hundred years for things to get serious, I assumed the nearness of the end times would overshadow this problem. With the speed of climate change now seen as moving much faster, global warming could very well be a major factor in the plagues of the tribulation.
100 Percent ResponsibleI was looking through the news headlines this week, and I ran across a story about the tobacco company Philip Morris being Hit with a $150 Million Verdict. A jury in Portland, Oregon, on Friday ordered Philip Morris Inc. to pay 150 million smackers to the estate of a woman who died of lung cancer after smoking low-tar cigarettes.
There is nothing special about the award. It is just the latest in a series of lawsuits yielding large judments against tobacco makers. Of course, Philip Morris said it would appeal the decision and analysts said the size of the award would likely be reduced by the judge or through appeal, following the same pattern set by several similar cases.
Don't worry about the poor tobacco companies going bankrupt. The judgment may amount to billions of dollar, but in the end, the lawyers will be the only ones that get the lion share of a greatly reduced settlement.
What caught my attention was how the jury decides who was responsible for the smokers death. They found Philip Morris bore 51 percent of the responsibility for Michelle Schwarz's death, with Schwarz herself 49 percent responsible for choosing to smoke. The award broke down to $25 million for negligence, $10 million for liability and $115 million for fraud.
This woman began smoking in 1964 and switched to low-tar Merit cigarettes in 1976, died in 1999 at age 53. During this time frame, she had ample warning that smoking causes premature death. Philip Morris attorneys pointed out that Schwarz went to nursing school and married a physician of all people.
There is guilt for those that produced the cigarettes, but it should be obvious that no one forces people to smoke. When it comes to sin, we bear 100 percent of the responsibility for our own actions. A single percentage point of responsibility is enough to condemn us.
"Although you wash yourself with soda and use an abundance of soap, the stain of your guilt is still before me," declares the Sovereign Lord," (Jeremiah 2:22).
"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one" (Rom 3:10-12).
Mar 18Are We Too Close To The Rapture?
I find myself having an increasingly hard time dealing with the possibility that we may be too close to the rapture. You folks are probably thinking, "What do you mean by: too close to the rapture?"
I'm sure most pre-trib believers wish the catching up of the Church would happen today. Because interest in the nearness of the rapture is driven by a continuos stream of fresh signs of the time, I've noticed that watchfulness in many Christian circles has been sagging under a general feeling of boredom.
We live in an age where prophetic activity has never been higher, and yet the average Christian views these events as being as common as the sun rising.
Prophecy indicates that someday the Antichrist will head a revived Roman Empire. When the unifying process for Europe began in the 1950s, there was all kinds of excitement in the field of prophecy. During the next three decades, you would be lucky if you saw a new development transpire ever third year. Today the EU is so common it's no longer regarded as being news worthy. Because of its commonality, prophecy students have greatly lost interest in the everyday active of the EU.
There are several areas of prophecy where apathy has largely taken over. I'm totally befuddled over how to react to the avalanche of filth that has sweep over television. Since my last update, I've encountered nearly a dozen reports that show gross immorality creeping into network programming. The encroachment of immoral standard is so widespread, it seems pointless for me to present this trend as being shocking.
I'm not saying we should throw in the towel and surrender. I just fully realize society as a whole has already given up the fight to the foul winds of change. When people live on a pig farm, no matter how bad you initially hate the smell, eventually most people will get use to the odor. I'd recommend moving away, but in this case our nation is the pig farm.
There so many well-known preachers that have fallen for some gross form of apostasy, at times I feel like an old fuddy-duddy when I try to reprove them. It's easy to stand against an error that's only in the minority. However, when you're the odd man out, it's hard to hold your ground. I'm constantly receiving nasty e-mail messages from people that think I'm giving TBN crowd a bad rap.
Many years of labor on Rapture Ready has given me a special insight into how time-consuming the advancement of the gospel can be for a web based ministry. It has taken me 15 years to get RR to where it is now. If I had been given a short-term warning regarding the rapture, I highly doubt it would be possible for me to finished the site within 4 years.
I have no idea when the rapture will happen. I can say with absolute certainty the occurrence of the blessed hope will cause many believers to suffer serious regret. The magnitude of the rapture is what should be our greatest concern.
When it comes to the task of getting ready, most Christians fail miserably. Once the rapture becomes past tense, our eternal reward is forever set in stone, and we will lose the ability to reach our lost loved ones.
In the Book of Matthew, Jesus warned his return for the Church would be a surprise event. Because most people are simply not ready to go, if the opposite was true, I can hear a chorus of people yelling, it's too close; it's too close.
"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." (Matthew 24:36)"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." (Matthew 24:42)
"Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh." (Matthew 24:44)
"Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh." (Matthew 25:13)
life In A Future Palestinian StateThe United States, the United Nations, and the European Union have all declared there should be a Palestinian State in the near future. The announcement by these three global powers is a reaction to the shocking level of bloodshed that has occurred in Israel. I really don't understand why the Palestinians are being rewarded for fomenting violent acts against Israeli citizens.
I'm not all too sure an Israeli withdrawing from the West Bank and Gaza Strip is in the Palestinian people's best interest. Arab hatred of the Jews is the only thing keeping them from killing each other. Under Israeli rule, people living in these two regions had a reasonable amount of protection from injustice.
The Oslo treaty gave the Palestinian Authority control over several Arab cities, and since the pullout of Israeli troops, justice has become nonexistent.
The city governments that report directly to Yasser Arafat have become totally corrupt. Anyone wanting to do business has to pay bribes to a number of crooked officials. Corruption is so bad, many nations have cut off financial aid to Arafat until he implements reform.
I would veto a Palestinian state over the fears it would turn into a terrorist state. What would also give me pause is how the PA treats its own people. In recent days a number of so-called collaborators have been murdered vigilante-style. In the past week alone, seven suspected collaborators have been slain by Palestinian gunmen.
One was strung up by his heels in the middle of a downtown traffic circle. The battered body of another was dragged through the streets before assailants tried to hang the corpse from a rooftop overlooking the traditional site of Jesus' birth. Two more were snatched off a West Bank road, driven to a deserted slaughterhouse and riddled with bullets.
These killings, many of them chillingly gruesome and highly public in nature, appear calculated to terrorize any Palestinian contemplating cooperation with the Israeli security services. The Palestinian militiamen behind the slayings promise their anti-collaborator campaign will intensify.
I'm sure some Palestinians are alarmed by the climate of chaos and lawlessness surrounding this spate of killings. When you elect to live under the rule of a totalitarian government, you surrender your right to protest.

The Saudi Peace Plan
Well, we've seen another week of death and mayhem in Israel. On Friday over 40 people died, setting a single day record for the past 17 months of unrest.
In the face of this blood bath, the peace initiative presented by Saudi Arabia's crown prince last month continues to gain support. The plan basically calls for Israel to withdraw to the borders it held before the 1967 Arab-Israel war, allowing for the creation of a Palestinian state.
For its part, Israel will receive a declaration of formal recognition from all her Arab neighbors - Wow! This agreement would revoke previous statements by Muslim leaders that said Israel had no right to exist.
The peace plan is expected to top the agenda when Arab leaders meet in Lebanon on March 27 and 28. Iran and Syria have already said they don't support the proposal.
It appears months of fighting has warped the minds of Israel's top leadership. I can understand the far-left being overly eager to give up more land for a promise of peace, but it shocked me to hear Ariel Sharon signaling positive reaction to this latest pipe dream.
I think the idea of Israel going for this plan is pure insanity. If Sharon signs his name to any agreement that allows for the West Bank and Gaza strip to come under Yasser Arafat's total control, he will be signing the death warrants of an untold number of Jews.
In the West Bank there are 200,000 Jewish settlers that would be totally surrounded by a future Palestinian state. Islamic groups like Hamas would be terrorist heaven. Instead of just killing a few Jew at a time, they can go into a whole village and murder every living soul.
Once Arafat becomes the leader of an independent nation, he will be able to import all the guns, bombs, and missiles he desires. If Israel was try to stop the Palestinians from heavily arming themselves, it would be condemned around the world for oppressing its weaker neighbor.
Returning to the 1967 borders is not going to satisfy the Arabs. They have repeatedly asked for more land, and it has gotten Israel nowhere. If you want a perfect representation of the master plan for the downsizing of the Jewish state, just drop an ice cube into a pan of boiling water and see what happens.
I think the greatest danger of Israel giving away the West bank, Gaza strip, and the Golan Heights is the probability that her enemies might decide they can take out Israel in a surprise attack. Several leaders in the Middle East have publicly proclaimed an Arab alliance could counter Israel's atomic weapons with overwhelming military might.
An Islamic chieftain in Iran said, it would only take one nuclear bomb to defeat Israel. Western intelligence reports predict Iran will soon be able to produce atomic weaponry.
In Chapter 38 and 39 of the Book of Ezekiel it talks about the coming Russian led attack against Israel. A large number of Muslim nations will join forces with Russia in that assault. There will be a few Arab countries on the sideline, and I find it interesting that Ezk 38:13 says Sheba and Dedan will be one of them.
"Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?" (Ezek 38:13)
Most Bible scholars say, Sheba, and Dedan is modern day Saudi Arabia. Tarshish, and the young lions is reported with less certainty to be England and the United States. I can see Britain and the US asking Russia, what in the world are you up to. The reason why Saudi Arabia is mentioned ahead of the two leading western military powers may have everything to do with the peace plan it just sponsored.
It's Tulsa Time AgainThe Tulsa prophecy conference presented by Thy Kingdom Come is rapidly drawing near. Last year there was about 40 people from the site that journeyed to Tulsa, Oklahoma. I was surprised by how many folks that lived in the local area, and yet had never previously heard of the conference.
After the Sept 11th attack, April 2002 seemed like a long shot. With me being in the military, I was worried that by this time I'd be in a foxhole somewhere in the Middle East. Right now it looks like the ever-looming rapture is the only thing that can spoil the conference.
During the three day event, I'll be taking plenty of pictures with my new zoom 35 mm camera. I also have 6 one-time-use cameras. With around 400 frames of film I should be able to capture the heart of the conference on film. The pick-of-the-litter photos will be posted on the Photorama page.
I can honestly say from last year's experience, Phil Goodman and Dr. Charles Pack put on the best prophecy conference I've ever attended. They both have a genuine love for Bible prophecy and they don't seek to overshadow the prophetic message with their own importance. At the 2001 meeting Dr. Pack almost embarrassed me with his kindness.
The guest speakers are going to be Randall Price, Chuck Missler, David Reagan, Arno Froese, and Jobe Martin. I haven't seen my old buddy David Reagan in a few years. Somehow we keep missing each other. I normally see all the other speakers once or twice a year. During last year's conference, Dave Hunt's appearance marked the fourth time within 12 months that I heard him speak.
Because I've studied prophecy for so many years, I don't go to conference to learn new things about the subject. I visit prophetic gatherings for the fellowship. Here in Nebraska their isn't very many churches that are focused on prophecy. It's been over four years since I last recall any type of prophecy meeting taking place in my local community.
The internet is a great way reach people that share your same views on the world, but it lacks the camaraderie and support you get from meeting people in the flesh.
If you're interested in coming to the conference, all you need to do is get in contact with the Tulsa Sheraton hotel by March 20. The rooms are $70/night. The phone number to the hotel is: 918-627-5000.
The meetings are free to the open public, but you should email or call Thy Kingdom Come just to let them know how many people are coming. I have plenty of details about the Tulsa conference on the main page under the Newest Articles category.
Touch Not The Liberal Media's AnointedThere is a new book coming out that promises a long list of earth-shattering revelations about the Rev. Jesse Jackson. The Christian conservative press has jumped all over this book, thinking it's sure to spell Jackson's doom.
"Shakedown: The Life & Lies of the Reverend Jesse Jackson" was written by author Ken Timmerman. In the book you can read sordid details about:
How Jackson personally profited from "non-profit" groups whose funds were intended to help poor minorities and civil rightsThe article I read claims there are so many more shocking revelations about Jackson it would be below the standards of that publication to print them. How Jackson used his "public service" image to live the lifestyle of Donald Trump: jets, top class hotels, million dollar homes - the best of everything - you name it!
How Jackson earned the name "Action Jackson" because of his voracious appetite for women
How Jackson used his complaints of racism against major corporations as a method of out-and-out extortion and blackmail in order to reap millions for himself and his organizations
I'm afraid all of Jesse Jackson's foes are going to end up frustrated as the book fails to unseat him. At this stage, I don't think anything can be done to remove Jackson as an icon of the liberal media. He has no sense of shame regarding his actions, so why would he ever decide to withdraw from the media limelight.
It truly takes a special type man to be able counsel the President of United State on adultery, while at the same time he brings along a woman he's having him own affair with. And the cherry on the top is the fact she was highly pregnant with his child at the time.
I can't envision any situation where the liberal media would abandon Jackson. It would seem murder is the only immoral act this man hasn't committed, then again, I haven't read the book. If the press had its way, it would make the "good" Rev. Jackson the next Pope.
It's already been reported in the conservative press that zero coverage is to be given to Timmerman's book by the liberal outlet. A CNN memo is said to have warned reporters away from giving any coverage to the book. I did a search of several of the main news sites, and there wasn't a single story related to "Shakedown."
One of the reason why I'm always attacking the national press is the simple fact it has the power to guide and reshape the thinking of the population. The liberal media greatest tool is its ability to set standards.
This past week the Rev. Billy Graham had to apologize for some taped comments he made to President Nixon 30 years ago about the Jews controlling the media. That story was in all the headlines.
We all know Graham and Jackson are held to two different standards. The Rev. Jackson probably can't go 30 days without committing some gross sin. His sex scandal, that would instant end the career of any other minister, didn't survive five days.
There is a growing number of Christian media organizations that are trying to speak the truth, but they're likely remain insignificant in comparison to the dominant liberal media. I think Christians are largely getting nowhere because they keep going after the products of liberalism - Jesse Jackson, Bill Clinton, Al Sharpton, or Ted Kennedy.
In Mat 12:29 Jesus said, "how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house."
Instead of always going after the liberal media's anointed, I think soldiers of truth should focus on binding the one doing the anointing.
Mar 4Bush Administration Fears A Nuclear Attack
Lately, the liberal media has been sniping at the White House for being too secretive about national security issues. For months now the press has been so blindly focused on gaining access to all information, it has failed to realize the government is greatly worried that terrorist may attack this nation with nuclear weapons.
The first indication that the Bush Administration's feared the possibility of a nuclear attack was the decision to keep Vice President Cheney hidden at a series of secret locations. The severity of the President's harsh tone against several terrorist supporting nations in his State of the Union Address was another clue.
The past week the liberal media finally woke up to reality after a series of revelations hit the news wires.
Thursday a senior government official announced the President has activated a "shadow government" consisting of 75 or more senior officials who live and work secretly outside Washington in case the nation's capital is crippled by a nuclear terrorist attack.
Sunday is was reported an October, an intelligence alert went out to a small number of government agencies, including the Energy Department's top-secret Nuclear Emergency Search Team, based in Nevada. The report said that terrorists were thought to have obtained a 10-kiloton nuclear weapon from the Russian arsenal, and planned to smuggle it into New York City. The threat later turned out to be unfounded.
It was also revealed this week that the government has deployed hundreds of sophisticated sensors to U.S. borders, overseas facilities and choke points around Washington. It has placed the Delta Force, the nation's elite commando unit, on a new standby alert to seize control of nuclear materials that the sensors may detect.
If we were to wake up one morning to the news that Washington DC. or New York had been targeted by a nuclear device, we would instantly find ourselves in a new world. The detonation of a 10-kiloton bomb in an area like lower Manhattan, would kill some 100,000 people and irradiate 700,000 more, flattening everything in a half-mile diameter.
I would be impossible to fully guess what would be the economic and political impact of nuclear attack on the US, but it would clearly be profound. I'm sure our enemies would be hopeful the attack would cause America to withdraw from the world stage.
For a long time Uncle Sam has been the primary nation employed in the task of maintaining global peace. The US tells China to leave Taiwan alone; we prevent North Korea from menacing South Korea, we keep Iraq boxed in; we have sanctions against troublesome nations like Iran, Sudan, and Libya; we're constantly urging Israel and the Palestinian Authority to stop killing each other; and we're involved in dozens of other conflicts. If America was to suddenly go into a state of isolationism, chaos would reign supreme.
The Bible predicts in the last days the dominate kingdom on earth will be a Rrvival of the Roman Empire headed by the Antichrist. It is a logical question to ask why the US isn't the one signing the final seven year peace treaty with Israel. The answer could very well turn out to be nuclear terrorism.
"And The Earth Was Filled With Violence" (Gen 6:11)It's been a long time since I've seen a week with so much violence taking place in so many different regions of the world. Here's a list of events that I compiled by searching the main headlines. Of course, Israel ranks at the top of the heap with several examples of carnage.
Israel - The Israeli military attacked two West Bank refugee camps with helicopter gunships, tanks and paratroopers Thursday in a high-stakes attempt to break strongholds of Palestinian militants. An Israeli soldier and 20 Palestinians were killed - pushing the Palestinian toll past 1,000 in 17 months of fighting.
Israel - Ten Israelis were killed and six were wounded after a Palestinian sniper opened fire at an IDF roadblock near the Samaria community of Ofra early Saturday morning. Seven of the dead were soldiers.
Israel - At least nine people were killed, including two year-old infants and a 10-year-old boy, and 57 others were wounded Saturday night, when a Palestinian suicide bomber blew himself up in a crowd of people making their way home from synagogue in Jerusalem's Beit Yisrael neighborhood.
Israel - A car in the West Bank town of Ramallah has exploded, killing at least 6 people - including two children. Witnesses say the car was hit by an Israeli tank shell in an apparent attempt to kill a Hamas activist.
Israel - Israeli troops stormed into two refugee camps and shot dead 16 Palestinians on Monday after Israel vowed harsh reprisals for one of the bloodiest waves of attacks in 17 months of conflict.
Israel - Three people have been killed and 13 wounded in a gun attack on a restaurant in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv. The attacker - who opened fire with an M-16 assault rifle - was himself shot dead by police.
India - A Hindu crowd set fire to a block of Muslim homes Thursday, killing at least 38 people, including a dozen children, amid riots across the Indian state of Gujarat sparked by a Muslim attack on a train full of Hindu nationalists. The violence Thursday left at least 58 dead in the western state.
India - Angry Hindus set fire to homes in a Muslim neighborhood and then kept firefighters away for hours, dragging out one former lawmaker and burning him alive. At least 600 people has died in revenge attacks triggered by the Muslim assault on a train.
India - Separatist violence in India's region of Kashmir has left at least 17 people dead, Indian security officials said Monday. Indian soldiers killed eight Islamic militants trying to sneak in from Pakistan-controlled Kashmir along the remote frontier.
Jordan - A car bomb exploded in the capital Thursday morning, killing two people in what was described as a warning to Jordan's security apparatus. The car belonged to the wife of a high-ranking member of the government.
Colombia - The army said it had killed a rebel commander in fighting in mountains southeast of the capital and displayed the guerrilla chieftain's body on Wednesday.
Nepal - Soldiers killed 27 rebels over two days in western Nepal as part of a military offensive launched after the guerrillas staged their deadliest strike ever earlier this month, the Defense Ministry said Wednesday. The military says it has now killed 189 rebels.
Uganda - Ugandan troops have killed 80 rebels in southern Sudan, an army spokesman said Sunday, in a push to quash a 15-year insurgency by the group calling itself the Lord's Resistance Army.
Kenya - Fighting between gangs from two main tribes killed at least 20 people in a poor neighborhood of Nairobi, the capital. The violence began before dawn Sunday in east Nairobi when members of the "Taliban" gang killed two members of the "Mungiki" gang.
Afghanistan - At least nine American soldiers have been killed since Friday in a fierce battle in eastern Afghanistan. At least six of those were in an MH-47 helicopter brought down early Monday by small-arms fire.
Islam: Evil or InsanityEver since the Sept 11 attack there been an open debate over the question of is Islam evil. A leader of the U.S. Christian right, Pat Robertson and Franklin Graham, son of famed evangelist Billy Graham have both been in the hot seat for saying Islam preaches hate.
I firmly believe the Muslim faith is founded and guided by a philosophy of hate. Some of the words and actions of Muslims is so outrageous you have to wonder about the sanity these people.
Recently A senior Iranian cleric was clearly off his medication when during a regular prayer sermon he began asking God to kill U.S. President George Bush or Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. The cleric, Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, who is already known for hard-line views, was delivering the Friday prayers sermon in Tehran on the Shiite Muslim holiday of Eid al-Ghadir.
Jannati said, "O God, on this auspicious occasion and through the blessings of Eid al-Ghadir, please bring happiness to our grief-stricken heart. If it is possible to do so by granting death to Sharon or Bush or any other means, please do so in any way that you deem appropriate."
There was no one in the Islamic world that bothered to condemn him for his bizarre death request to the Almighty. You'd be hard pressed to find a Muslim that was repulsed by Jannati's inflammatory speech.
There has been a long series of deadly suicide bombings against Israel by Palestinian extremist groups. Several times I've seen pictures of masked members of Hamas marching in public wearing white robes and mock explosives, symbolizing they are ready to become suicide bombers. I greatly doubt the average Palestinian has any negative reaction to people dressed up in bomb gear.
The views of Muslims has long been warped by the blind faith mentality that permeated that religion. It's been well proven that a Muslim terrorist cell was behind the Sept 11 attack, but don't try to make that claim in the Islamic world.
In a Gallup poll released last week, 61 per cent of nearly 10,000 Muslims in nine Islamic countries said they did not believe Arabs were responsible for the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center last September.
One other Gallup poll gave a figure of 48 per cent of Pakistanis believing that Jews flew the planes into the WTC after warning fellow Jews working there to stay home.
I don't think the Islamic world is crazy; I think it's guilty of self delusion. The Inability to find a majority of Muslims that are willing to condemn these outrageous acts proves the depravity of Islam.
It's sickening to see crowds of people openly praising terrorists that kill innocent children with bombs packed with nails, but the so-called moderate Arab majority is hardly any less to blame. Their silence is what allows the more sinister side of Islam to prosper.
Feb 25What Really Bothers Me
I get a lot of email from folks that seek to encourage me against the negative messages I post in the Interesting Email page. Here's a very common example of one of these types of letters:
Your website scares me, its not the fact that "the Lord is coming", its how gullible you are. Yet I do not care, and laugh at your ignorant religious beliefs.I'm sure all prophetic ministries find themselves blessed with a similar quantity of negative email. I think the main reason why some people are dismayed by the mail I post is the simple fact I've always been willing to post a true representation of the actual mail sent to Rapture Ready. I've always believed it would be pointless for me to only post praise email.
Negative messages don't bother me a bit. I find most of them to be humorous in light of the coming prophetic reality. When the rapture takes place, these people that hate Bible prophecy will be totally dumbfounded.
If there's anything that distresses me, it would have to be the average person's lack of involvement in all things related to Christianity. Each month over 100,000 people visit the site, and other than praise mail, I'm rarely blessed with any type of beneficial input from readers.
I can receive as many as 100 emails a day and 90 percent of that mail comes under the combined categories of complaints, questions, or propaganda. The leading positive mail I receive is news articles people send me.
I think the greatest mistake on the part of people interested in Bible prophecy is their failure to act on the knowledge they've acquired from years of study. I've always believe the nearness of the end times requires the faithful to take action. I love the bumper sticker that says: "Jesus is coming, everybody look busy."
One of the most ignored passages in the Bible would have to be 2 Cor 5:10-11: "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences."
I'm afraid there is going to be a large percentage of Christians at the Judgment Seat of Christ that will be clueless when it comes to remembering something positive they did during their earthly life.
I personally know of several people that spend all their time reading the latest book on prophecy and running to the hottest prophecy conference. There is a special reward promised to us that love the appearing of the Lord (2 Tim 4:8), however, I think there are even bigger rewards waiting for those that help get the lost ready to meet the Lord.
I have a retired uncle that is very much into prophecy, and I recently tried to convince he needs to doing something for the Kingdom. He gets three retirement checks each month, and he roams from one prophecy conference to the next. After talking with him and trying to convince him to start his own web ministry with no luck, I finally concluded he was just too busy leading a full-time life of laziness.
It's not just the layman that needs to be taken to the woodshed for slothfulness. In the past couple years I've had my views of several leading prophetic writers adjusted by my discovery that their primary motivation is not where it should be.
Money and fame is the main goal of several authors. I found this out by pointedly asking many of them to consider contributing to some of their older articles to a web site. I can still see the are you crazy look on some of their faces.
Faster And Faster the Chips GoI was recently searching through a cabinet at work, and I came across an old copy of the computer magazine called Computer Shopper. On the cover was a promotion for the latest Pentium computer. At first glance I thought it read 750 MHz processor, but as I took a closer look, I realized it was actually a 75 MHz system.
To have only a 75 MHz processor on the cover I figured the magazine had to be very old. It was dated September 1995 which is not really all that long ago. It amazed me that in just 6 and 1/2 years the speed of CPUs has increased 30 times to 2,200 MHz.
Even with the leap we've had in the speed of microchips the rate of increase in processing power shows no sign of slowing. Technology breakthroughs just seem to be piling up on each other. Just today IBM corporation announced it has a chip that operates at 110 GHz, that would equal 110,000 MHz. IBM says they are working on a transistor that will soon operate at one Terahertz, a THz is equal to 1,000,000 MHz.
I find this mammoth increase in the speed of microprocessors to be a very ominous trend. With the right software and input devices computers may someday be able to track our every move. The book of Revelation clearly indicates all financial activity will be controlled by the Antichrist. "And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name" (Rev 13:17).
Benny Hinn's Eight Year CountdownEarlier this month I was watching Benny Hinn - who's one of my favorite Word of Faith Preachers - in the negative sense.
Because Hinn is such a compulsive liar, I'm not even going to bother building up a case against the guy to set up my comments here. If you have doubts, you can read my Heresy Hunters page to get a feel for his past statements.
On his one program "This Is Your Day" Benny Hinn was talking about his many visions he frequently receives from the Lord. On the show with Benny was a guy with white hair and white beard - no it was not Moses. I didn't get his name, but he might as well been the prophet Moses because he was spewing forth an endless stream of positive prophecies about the good things that will soon come Mr. Hinn's way.
According to the gentleman, Benny Hinn Ministries is going see eight years where everything is going to get better and better. There's going to be more healings, more miracles, more wealth, and a greater anointing.
I don't see anything special about the positive blessings. These type of pie in the sky statements are what the word of faith movement is all about. What causes me great wonderment is the eight year plan. If God himself has personally promised Benny Hinn eight years of prosperity, it would seem that the rapture can not be imminent during this time period.
Jack Van Impe also stepped on the doctrine of rapture imminency when he proclaimed in December that according to his calculations 2018 was the most likely date for the rapture. I'm getting the impression that Satan is pushing hard for a campaign of misinformation because maybe he knows the rapture is indeed very imminent.
Feb 18An Increasingly Frustrated Israel
After almost 17 months of fighting and no end in sight, Israelis seem to be growing impatient and despondent over the deadlock in their war of attrition with the Palestinians.
News of bloodshed in Israel has become a daily occurrence in Israel. Here are just some news items from Thursday to Monday:
Thursday night three soldiers were killed in Gaza when a terrorist bomb destroyed one of their reputedly super-protected Merkava-3 tanks.
On Friday a soldier was shot dead at a West Bank roadblock underscoring the vulnerability of those who man the scores of roadblocks that attempt to restrict the movement of militants and make life a misery for masses of ordinary people.
On Saturday two teen-agers were killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up in a West Bank Jewish settlement the first such attack.
On Sunday two Palestinians in a car tried to enter an Israeli army base near Hadera, a city in Israel's north. Police stopped the car, and the driver tried to escape during an exchange of fire with police. ''One terrorist was shot and killed and the other tried to escape in the car,'' said police commander Yaakov Raz. ''The other saw he could not get through a roadblock and blew himself up.
On Monday Three people, a bomber and two Israelis, were killed in a single bombing and shooting attack in the Gaza Strip. Later in the day two more suicide bombers struck killing a total of 7 Israelis.
I strongly believe the current unrest in Israel is the prefect setup for an the antichrist to come in the rescue the situation. In the past decade dozens of world leaders have all failed to end the fighting. It seems the stage is now set for the Beast to come and work his magic.
A Blind Psychic Leading A Blind PublicFederal fraud fighters say Miss Cleo's psychic hot line should have seen it coming: A lawsuit accusing the service of rampant deception.
Describing the hot line as "permeated with fraud," the Federal Trade Commission said Thursday it wants to shut down Access Resource Services Inc. and Psychic Readers Network. The two companies in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., are behind the telephone psychic reading service advertised by mail, on television and the Internet.
Florida authorities announced a separate lawsuit, challenging the service's spokeswoman, Youree Dell Harris, known as "Miss Cleo," to prove that she really is a renowned shaman from Jamaica. Harris appears on national television commercials promising insights into love, money and other personal matters.
A person who answered a gate intercom at Harris' home west of Fort Lauderdale said she had no comment. An attorney for the companies, Sean Moynihan, said, "The only unfair and irresponsible practices involved in the lawsuit are those of the FTC."
The companies also have been sued by Arkansas, Illinois, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The FTC complaint accuses the service of misdeeds including false promises of free psychic readings, tricky billing tactics to squeeze money out of consumers and unrelenting and abusive telemarketing calls.
"Considering the laundry list of unfair and deceptive practices in this case, it's a mystery to us why Miss Cleo and her employers haven't seen this coming," said Howard Beales, the agency's director of consumer protection. He said the FTC acted after getting more than 2,000 consumer complaints over the past 18 months.
Beales said the service promises a free psychic reading, but when consumers call a toll-free number they are directed to a 1-900 number charging $4.99 per minute. The fees add up after an initial free period of three minutes with callers usually on hold.
An average call costs more than $60, Beales said, noting that nearly 6 million people have called the service. A telephone bill that can run into the hundreds of dollars is the first sign for many callers that they are being charged. Callers who refused to pay had their credit ratings threatened, Beales said.
Florida Attorney General Bob Butterworth said the telephone psychics do not actually do tarot readings as promised, but simply read from a prepared script.
"We actually had a lady at home who was barefooted with a night coat on, sitting at a breakfast table with a Fruit Loops box and she was just reading from the script that was given to her," he said.
The psychic service also allegedly violated telemarketing rules by harassing people and making calls to those who asked to be on a "do not call" list, according to the FTC complaint, filed in the District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Beales said many consumers received up to 10 calls a day, usually automated messages telling them that "Miss Cleo had a dream about them and they should call back." Some consumers received up to 50 calls within a few weeks. "That's not a dream," Beales said. "It's a nightmare."
I've always maintained the commonsense belief that if there was any truth to psychics reading the future, we would see people the like Miss Cleo working their trade on Wall Street. Because there's not one known witch or warlock as a member of the Forbes 400, I would have conclude soothsayers have zero ability to foresee future events.
Benjamin Netanyahu Eyes Return To PowerExuding confidence that he will return to power, former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday that Israel must remove Yasser Arafat and destroy the Palestinian Authority - perhaps via military assault - before peace talks can resume.
In an interview with The Associated Press, Netanyahu said he has no qualms about challenging Ariel Sharon, a sitting prime minister from his own Likud Party, and that he was gratified by polls showing Israelis - who sent him packing in a 1999 election - now give him widespread support.
Netanyahu, 52, has been speaking throughout the United States and Israel, and has criticized Sharon for stopping short of what Netanyahu believes is the only way to end terror attacks against Israelis - the removal of Arafat.
"The goal is to defeat the terror regime, to effectively bring it down," he said at his well-appointed office in a modern high-tech complex in Jerusalem. "And that goal is easily attainable."
Netanyahu said he wasn't suggesting Israel physically harm Arafat. But instead of restricting Arafat to his compound in the West Bank town of Ramallah as Sharon has done, the Palestinian leader should be allowed to leave - but not to return.
"He keeps wanting to go abroad - I think we should not hinder him from doing so," Netanyahu said. "I would very much like to see him have a happy retirement with his friends from Tripoli ... with his friends from Baghdad."
Israel also should eliminate the terrorist infrastructure that has been established in the West Bank and Gaza, which would be "a very simple thing to do, not very complicated and not very costly," Netanyahu said.
He was evasive about the exact steps he would take, but hinted strongly at a large-scale military operation: "Israel has not used a fraction of a fraction of the means that it has available, as you can imagine."
Netanyahu said deterrence would no longer work with the Palestinian leadership, because "at this point Arafat is already in 'Never-Never-Land.'"
He opposed the 1993 interim agreements with Arafat's PLO. As prime minister from 1996 to 1999, he put the brakes on the land-for-peace process and had mostly acrimonious relations with the Palestinians. Still, he did negotiate two interim peace deals and handed over most of the West Bank town of Hebron.
He also developed a reputation for adventurism that dogged him throughout his tenure and contributed to his landslide defeat. But in light of almost 17 months of fighting, Netanyahu's hardline ideas are again in vogue and he clearly feels vindicated and combative.
The Palestinian Authority is "truly a corrupt, backward, primitive regime that oppresses the Palestinians, that kneecaps anyone who dares to disagree with Arafat ... that controls the media, sucks all the money, leaves the Palestinians in an impoverished state," he maintained. He said that as prime minister he would only resume peace talks once terrorism was wiped out, and then offer much less than his successor Ehud Barak did a year ago - a Palestinian state in almost all of the West Bank and Gaza with a foothold in east Jerusalem. That this "wild" offer was rejected by Arafat proves the Palestinian leader's true intention remains to destroy the Jewish state, Netanyahu said.
Sharon has said a Palestinian state is inevitable eventually - but Netanyahu disagreed. A state, Netanyahu said, would mean Palestinian control of borders and airspace - with the potential of bringing in weapons and making military pacts with Israel's enemies - and that this Israel could not allow.
On the wall of Netanyahu's conference room hung a large map of Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, and an etching of the Second Jewish Temple in Jerusalem.
In a survey of right-wing voters published in the Maariv newspaper last weekend, 48 percent said they preferred Netanyahu to lead Likud into the next election; in the survey of 509 people, which had a 4.5 percent error margin, only 33 percent said they backed Sharon. All current polls show the right wing winning an election today. The next general election must be held by November 2003, and many expect it sooner.
"I'm very gratified by the fact that both in the general public and in my own party there's widespread support for me," said the stocky, gray-haired Netanyahu, adding that he saw nothing wrong with challenging Sharon because "we do not have a dynastic ruler." Looking back on his tumultuous years in power, Netanyahu acknowledged making "quite a few mistakes" but insisted these were primarily in the realm of management. "The policies were sound, and many Israelis have had the chance to think about that again."
Feb 11Yasser Arafat: The Jailer Man
For several years now Israel has been suffering one deadly terrorist attack after another. In the West Bank and Gaza Strip there is a large network of radical Islamic groups that supply and train the suicide bombers.
Israel has repeatedly demanded that Yasser Arafat arrest the people that plan and carry out attacks. When Arafat would refused to cooperate, Israel would bomb Palestinian targets. His arm would be further twisted by calls from mainly the Us for him to take action.
During the few times when Arafat finally did arrest the leaders of terrorist cells, everyone including Israel would cheer. However, the praise didn't last very long. When it comes to punishing people that commit acts of murder against Israelis, the Palestinian justice system is nothing more than a revolving door.
If you're ever accused of murder or conspiracy to commit mass murder, the best place on earth to serve your term would be in a Palestinian jail. Terrorist that have been identified as being connected to some of the most heinous attacks in Israel have often only served a few months behind bars.
One of the main reasons why militants don't stay in jail for any great length of time is that every time Arafat gets upset with Israel he releases all of his prisoners. This is has happen numerous times, and in fact this is what transpired this weekend.
After Israel raided the city of Nablus for an attack that left three Israelis dead, the Palestinian Authority in some cities set free its entire prison population. Oddly enough, that number also included common criminals that had committed crimes against their fellow Palestinians.
Israel has slowly wised up and realized there is no chance of seeing any justice under Arafat's rule. Over the past year several radical terrorist leaders have been eliminated by the Israeli military in a serie of operations commonly called "targeted killings."
The Israeli army has also been arresting dozens of terror suspects and properly tried them for their crimes. Just today an Israeli military court sentenced a Palestinian militant to 26 consecutive life terms for planning two deadly suicide bombings in Jerusalem in 1997.
The court sentenced Muaid Said to one life term for each of the 21 Israelis killed and one for each of the five Palestinian bombers who died in the attacks. Said had been convicted of murder last week.
Said was also convicted of belonging to and serving in an enemy organization, attempting to kidnap a soldier and attempting to carry out an additional bombing. He was sentenced to 25 years on those charges.
Children In The Cookie JarThe spread of immorality is probably the greatest factor pressing the world closer to the outpouring of God's judgment. I see one more area that might be getting God's attention these days.
As the field of medical science advances, mankind is increasingly getting closer to the point controlling life itself. The past few years we've learned of research involving cloning, and gene alteration. I have to wonder if the following story is one more indication that God is soon going to have to say, "OK folks, enough is enough."
Doctors are developing artificial wombs in which embryos can grow outside a woman's body. The work has been hailed as a breakthrough in treating the childless.
Scientists have created prototypes made out of cells extracted from women's bodies. Embryos successfully attached themselves to the walls of these laboratory wombs and began to grow. However, experiments had to be terminated after a few days to comply with in-vitro fertilization (IVF) regulations.
'We hope to create complete artificial wombs using these techniques in a few years,' said Dr. Hung-Ching Liu of Cornell University's Center for Reproductive Medicine and Infertility. 'Women with damaged uteruses and wombs will be able to have babies for the first time.'
The pace of progress in the field has startled experts. Artificial wombs could end many women's childbirth problems - but they also raise major ethical headaches which will be debated at a major international conference titled 'The End of Natural Motherhood?' in Oklahoma next week.
'There are going to be real problems,' said organizer Dr. Scott Gelfand, of Oklahoma State University. 'Some feminists even say artificial wombs mean men could eliminate women from the planet and still perpetuate our species. That's a bit alarmist. Nevertheless, this subject clearly raises strong feelings.' Liu's work involves removing cells from the endometrium, the lining of the womb. 'We have learnt how to grow these cells in the laboratory using hormones and growth factors,' she said.
After this Liu and her colleagues grew layers of these cells on scaffolds of biodegradable material which had been modeled into shapes mirroring the interior of the uterus. The cells grew into tissue and the scaffold dissolved. Then nutrients and hormones such as estrogen were added to the tissue. 'Finally, we took embryos left over from IVF programs and put these into our laboratory engineered tissue. The embryos attached themselves to the walls of our prototype wombs and began to settle there.'
The experiments were halted after six days. However, Liu now plans to continue with this research and allow embryos to grow in the artificial wombs for 14 days, the maximum permitted by IVF legislation. 'We will then see if the embryos put down roots and veins into our artificial wombs' walls, and see if their cells differentiate into primitive organs and develop a primitive placenta.' The immediate aim of this work is to help women whose damaged wombs prevent them from conceiving. An artificial womb would be made from their own endometrium cells, an embryo placed inside it, and allowed to settle and grow before the whole package is placed back in her body.
A different approach has been taken by Yoshinori Kuwabara at Juntendo University in Tokyo. His team has removed foetuses from goats and placed them in clear plastic tanks filled with amniotic fluid stabilized at body temperature. In this way, Kuwabara has kept goat foetuses alive and growing for up to 10 days by connecting their umbilical cords to machines that pump in nutrients and dispose of waste.
While Liu's work is aimed at helping those having difficulty conceiving, Kuwabara's is designed to help women who suffer miscarriages or very premature births. In this way Liu is extending the time an embryo can exist in a laboratory before being placed in a woman's body; Kuwabara is trying to give a foetus a safe home if expelled too early from its natural womb. Crucially, both believe artificial wombs capable of sustaining a child for nine months will become reality in a few years.
'Essentially research is moving towards the same goal but from opposite directions,' UK fertility expert Dr. Simon Fishel, of Park Hospital, Nottingham, said. 'Getting them to meet in the middle will not be easy, however. There are so many critical stages of pregnancy, and so many factors to get right.'
The Growing Missile Threat Against IsraelThe growing missile arsenals of Arab states and Iran can overcome Israel's nuclear capability. This is the growing assumption of several of Israel's Arab neighbors.
A report, presented by a prominent Egyptian strategist, said Arab and Iranian missiles have reduced the likelihood that Israel will launch a nuclear first strike. The strategist termed Israel the sixth largest nuclear power in the world, with a plutonium arsenal far larger than that of India.
Zakaria Hussein, former director of Egypt's Higher Nasser Academy, presented the report during a two-day seminar on weapons of mass destruction. The seminar, was held at the Zayed Center for Coordination and Follow-Up in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
"It is imperative for Arab states to have a deterrent power to face the existing gap in the military balance with Israel," the report said. "Arab states possess a sufficient missile power, both conventional and unconventional, which constitute a confirmed deterrent that will force Israel not to carry out what it wants."
Hussein said Arab deterrence is based in its missile arsenals and large geographical area. He said Arab states have the potential to destroy Israel even after a nuclear strike by the Jewish state.
"The size of the Arab destructive power needed to deter Israel should be enough to cripple Israel's depth and inflict as much losses as possible," the report said. "This does not need a nuclear capability but coordination among Arab nations and the joint will to use their available conventional and unconventional power."
The report said Israel possesses between 500 and 800 kilograms of plutonium. This figure, the report said, far exceeds India's plutonium stock, estimated at 150 kilograms.
"But it seems that Israel's nuclear policy has four proportions, the first of which is that it will use the atomic bomb as a deterrent weapon rather than a means to launch a first strike," the report said. "Israel could use those weapons as a desperate retaliation at a later stage and will continue to work forcefully to prevent Arab states from acquiring nuclear bombs even if it has to launch an attack as it did in 1981, when it destroyed Iraq's nuclear reactor." Israel has refused to confirm or deny a nuclear weapons capability. Israeli leaders have pledged not to be the first to use nuclear weapons in the Middle East.
Feb 4Signs Of Peace Are Also A Sign
I would guess 90 percent of Christians that are active prophecy watchers would view warfare in the Middle East as being several times more significant than a peace treaty. Most end time news reporting tends to share an eagerness any sign of hostility. Because Israel is the prophetic keystone, it frequently has the misfortune of being the center of war speculation.
Whenever there is unrest in Israel, people of prophecy become fixated on the possibility of a wider war. Whenever there is talk of peace, their attention drifts away.
I have found from my study of the Bible and Middle East history that peace and war will most likely work hand-in-hand to bring about the fulfillment of Bible Prophecy. Wars alone doesn't bring us any closer to the end times. There have been numerous wars that have had no direct impact on prophecy.
I've previously mentioned the possibly of a Gog (Russian) invasion of Israel. In Ezk 38:11 it talks of Israel living safely just ahead of the Gog attack.
"And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates" (Ezek 38:11).
You'd have a difficult time convincing a Jewish person residing in Israel today that he's currently living in safety. After the Oslo peace accord was sign in 1993, it briefly was possible for most Israelis to proclaim they were living in safety.
Currently, the situation in Israel does not look promising. The relationship between the Palestinian Authority and Israel is at an all-time low. Israel's Prime Minister Ariel Sharon made the point clear when he openly said this past week that he wishes he killed Yassaer Arafat in the early 80's went he had the chance.
The beleaguered peace process is not dead yet. Both the US and increasingly the European Union have been quietly working to tackle this colossal problem. I find the EU's involvement to be particularly interesting. Someday the leader of this federation of nations will beguile Israel and others with his platform of peace.
The book of Daniel warns us that the Antichrist will use peace as a weapon for eventual destruction. The fact that the tribulation starts with the signing of a peace treaty make very important for us to be watchful of ever potential peace agreement.
"And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many:" (Dan 8:25)
The Commonality of ImmoralityOne of the most under reported trends in the western world is our society's continual slide into immorality. I've done searches in several libraries on the subject of immorality, and I could easily find loads of books on the problems that result from the advancement of sin, but not once was I able to locate a really good book that detailed the "trend" towards deeper depravity.
One of the greatest factors in the spread of immorality would have to be the growing commonality of immorality. There once was a time when it was nearly impossible for a man who had been caught in adultery to be elected to a high office. Today, if you were to say that a man is unfit to be elected because of his unfaithfulness, people would think that you were some kind of a religious nut."
I'm constantly seeing example after example of how sin is being excepted as a common occurrence. Here are three items that caught my attention:
I read one news report where a guy was arrested for having sex with a goat in plain view of over 100 passengers on a train. A reporter interviewed the man in court about his love for animals. This is what goat boy had to say for himself, "Yes, I got a lot of ribbing from my friends about that."
The use of marijuana is being openly defended in various news magazines. There are a number of arguments are frequently used to promote the legalization of pot smoking - it's a drug we can grow domestically, we can tax it, and it's a victimless crime. The biggest argument being presented is just, "Oh come on, everyone is doing it."
I was talking with some of my co-workers recently, and one of them made a joking reference to a supplement product called Longitude. At the time I had no idea what he was referring to. A few days later I came across a cable TV add for the product. Longitude makes the bizarre claim of being able to extend the size of any male's manhood. I couldn't believe the brazen tone of the commercial. If NBC is able to sell liquor, I guess it's only fitting for cable channels to be offering pills that will make a guy's willy longer.
The only way to know how bad things have gotten is to reflect on how these three immoral issues would be handled in previous years. In the past someone caught raping a goat would show up in court with a blanket over their head, pro-dope articles would only found in magazines that specialized in drug paraphernalia, and the only available ad space for products like Longitude would be in porn magazines.
